Project Overview:
Location: Chilean Highway
Purpose: Anti-cracking reinforcement of asphalt pavement, extending road life
Geogrid type: 50kN/m glass fiber geogrid (with self-adhesive)
Construction area: about 80,000㎡
Construction Process:
Repair of old road: remove damaged pavement, repair cracks, and ensure that the base is flat and clean.
Apply bonding layer: spray emulsified asphalt to improve the bonding strength between geogrid and asphalt layer.
Laying glass fiber geogrid: manual and mechanical laying, self-adhesive grid close to the ground to avoid wrinkles and bulges.
Asphalt paving: 5cm thick AC-16 asphalt concrete is used for paving and compacted.
Construction Effect:
Extend the life of the road for more than 5 years and reduce cracking.
Improve anti-rutting ability and reduce maintenance costs by about 30%.
